Something we Chicagoans already knew has been confirmed by Newsweek magazine:  Chicago is hip!  According to an article published last month, Chicago is “America’s hottest city.”  The author of the article references the city’s booming tourism industry, its place as an incubator for e-commerce companies (Groupon, etc.), our cutting-edge music scene, and—of course—we all knew about our world-class architecture and the city’s place at the center of the gastronomic universe.  The article states that Chicago’s profile is staged to be heightened even more with the election of Rahm Emanuel as mayor and his direct line to the ear of the White House (whose resident family calls Chicago home).  Of course, none of this is news to those of us who already live here and love this city, but it is good to see that someone else recognizes that there is something worthwhile happening between New York and L.A.
