The end of July will be marked by two major festivals occurring this weekend. One of them is the 28th annual Taste of Lincoln Avenue, which stretches from Lincoln Avenue at Fullerton to Wrightwood Avenue. This festival will offer over 300 types of food vendors. In addition to the variety of food, there will also be five stages set up for 35 national and local bands set to perform. The line-ups include all kinds of music ranging from soul to pop to blues and rock. The other major festival taking place is the 39th annual Fiesta del Sol, which will be held in the Pilsen neighborhood. This festival is considered the biggest Latino fest in the Midwest. Fiesta del Sol will provide entertainment by having a car show, a DJ, arts and crafts, and much more. Unlike other street fairs, this festival is smoke and alcohol free. For more information, please click here. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Lollapalooza. The musical festival will be held in Grant Park August 5-7. Lollapalooza is considered one of the best summer music festivals across the country and attracts people of all ages. The festival began in 1991 and was revived in 2005 after a short hiatus. Chicago has hosted Lollapalooza since 2005 and has agreed to host the festival through 2018. Some of the artists performing this year include Eminem, Coldplay, Muse, Foo Fighters, Deadmau5 and many more. Last year Lollapalooza averaged 75,000 people per day.
